I was so super lucky to attend Glastonbury for the first time this year (don't be jealous, be excited for when you get the opportunity to go) and thought I would write a little post about some of my highlights. Well, let's be honest here, literally everything was a highlight for me and I sometimes can't comprehend how incredible it was. Basically, you have to go experience this magical place and feel the energy. I was originally going to write a post about what I learnt after my first time going to Glastonbury and sort of touch on the highs and the lows... but I honestly don't have a bad word to say. Okay, the toilets are vile... but you know how it is. We all know that music, art and culture are great. But going to Glastonbury made me realise that art is much more powerful than I had originally thought. It brings people together from all walks of life and when 250,000 happy souls are in a beautiful sunny field surrounded by endless creativity, the feeling of human connection is unbelievable. I guess this is the same for every festival, but Glastonbury is iconic and I am so blessed to have been a part of it.
My Top 10 highlights:
Getting lifted over the barrier during Kylie Minogue because I needed to pee... I was literally 5 feet away from Kylie Minogue, I think I can die happy.
The fact that it didn't rain AT ALL. Not one drop. None. The sunsets and sunrises were unbelievable.
Stormzy saying "Fuck Boris" on the pyramid stage.
David Attenborough (what a legend) coming on stage and previewing his new series, I cried. To be honest I think I cried about 5 times on the last day... sleep deprivation does things. I was a mess. Tears of joy of course!
Tame Impala. The Aussie boys delivered, and the light show was INSANE. Love you Kevin, I will come find you in Australia.
The Killers singing Mr. Brightside on the pyramid stage. Epic.
Shangri La. This is where all the late night party people go to rave to that drum n bass... of course we were there every night.
Billie Eilish. She smashed it as usual... and I cried.
Maggie Rogers saying that Glastonbury is like a religion and that we should always always hold on to those feelings of joy and happiness no matter how tough life gets.
Sipping Chai tea in the piano bar as the sun came up on the last day.
Okay so those are the top 10 that sprung to mind... of course there are so many more. All I can say is that Glastonbury 2019 was most definitely a highlight of my life thus far. I made some amazing new friends with beautiful souls and can't wait to go again in the future. Now here are a bunch of basic white gal festival pics! Until next time Legends. x
